Jade Fernandez

Regional Specialist: GA, NC, Middle TN

Jade started mountain biking in 2016 after taking an Intro to Mountain Biking class inspired by her partner, an avid rider. She loved it so much, she bought her instructor's old bike a month later. Now, Jade and her fiancé spend nearly every vacation trying to find the coolest places to bike, from Peru to Slovenia. Soon after acquiring a bike, she joined an all-women off-road cycling club, the 706pchicks, and continues to mentor with those strong and hilarious women through the Athens chapter of Little Bellas. When Jade isn't forming a nice sweat 'stache by hiking with her puggle, Mitsi, or biking, she loves to read books, and "do research," aka watch prestige television and/or movies from the early 2000s. Jade is a film and television actress, and her dream role is a character on a comfort tv show that runs for a decade. Biking has expanded her life in so many ways, and she is stoked to join the Little Bellas team as a Regional Support Specialist.

Where do you call home? Athens, GA and soon to be Asheville, NC.

Why Little Bellas? I love empowering young women (former teacher!) and lessons/strength from the bike are translated so easily to life. This is a program I wish I'd had when I was younger, and I'm so elated to be a part of it now.

If you had a super power, what would it be? Flying

Favorite color? Cobalt blue

Favorite ride snack? Chocolate chip cookies - homemade.

Favorite food? Also chocolate chip cookies. And roasted brussels sprouts.

Hidden talents? My brain is a trove of weird facts, so I'm very good at trivia.

What is your favorite Little Bellas experience? One time, one of the girls pulled out an empanada as a snack. My kinda snack! And naturally, any time they set their minds to overcoming an obstacle and doing it. It never gets old.

What is a fun fact that people don't know? My grandpa has a street named after him in Puerto Rico.
